The Florida Gulf Coast
A virtual tour by Beach Directory
Naples & Marco Island

Naples was the fastest-growing city in America in the 1980's. The newness of most buildings is striking.

Still, a good part of historic Naples has been preserved: Old Naples Pier and Historic Fifth Avenue South are popular among area visitors. High end shops, galleries and elegant restaurants line this street. Naples is also known as the "Golf Capital of America", with over 40 golf courses in the vicinity. Naples is well worth a visit, and also offers moderately priced hotels....so don't let the pricey look of Naples scare you away if you are on a budget.

Marco Island is the southermost town on the Florida Gulf Coast, and a very special place where you really can get away from it all. The fishing and shelling are good, the beaches great and the recreational opportunities plentiful. A great place to go with the family.

Marco Island's proximity to the Everglades is a plus - swamp buggy tours, airboat rides, swamp safaris and Everglades National Park are all just a short drive away.
